So many of my nights have consisted of chasing sunsets! Whether its photographing a couple on their wedding day, a sweet family on the beach or spending my spare time on the boat with my husband and kids, I get to experience so many breathtaking sunsets on the turquoise blue water of the Florida Keys.
These vibrant sunsets coupled with the itching desire to capture moments of raw emotion and genuine interactions between people has led me to a career that I feel so fortunate to have found.
Whenever I pick up my camera, I strive to create beautiful and emotional images that tell a story and showcases the beauty of both the people and the world around them.

I was born and raised in Orlando, FL where I met my husband Jason at the young age of 18. We've been together ever since and our life has taken us all over. From the Mid-west, to South Texas and back to Central Florida again. We eventually landed in the Florida Keys in 2017 (3 weeks before hurricane Irma to be exact) and we have found our forever home. We have three great kids (one of which is a SURPRISE Irma baby, haha!) and they spend their childhood living on the water and in tune with nature.
I have a bachelors degree from University of Central Florida in Business Management and I never imagined that my career choice would be photographer. But a series of events led me to this profession and I feel so fortunate to have found this life! I am blessed!

I often get asked why my business name is "Macy Ryan Photography" when my name is Katherine. Well, it is a bit confusing! But I named my business many years ago after my oldest child (who was an only child at the time - not playing favorites!) Macy Ryan Meier since she inspired me to pick up my camera and learn how to take pictures in the first place. I am so thankful for that inspiration! Photography has blessed my life in so many ways.

I make it an effort to get out on the water whenever I can. Whether it's fishing, pulling crab traps, snorkling on the reef or enjoying the sunset on a sandbar, I am constantly reminded of the beauty that surrounds me.

Nothing beats a sunset cruise to watch the sunset after a long day. The sound of the water, the feel of the salt air, the vibrant colors of the sinking sun and my favorite drink in my hand is my idea of paradise.

While I am not a seafood eater (crazy, I know!) I do love the joy and squeals of happiness my kids let out when the hook into a big fish.

I am so fortunate to have found a job and a family that let me dip my toes in the ocean daily. I have to say, it's a rare day if the salt water doesn't touch my skin in some sort of fashion.

It's true, they drive me nuts and fight entirely way too much, but they have brought so much chaos and fun into my life . The big one is sweet, the middle one is silly and the littlest is mean!! Ha! But it's true......Love them!
